MKSCB Safer Internet Day Competition – Winners Announced
To celebrate Safer Internet Day 2017 on 14 February, the MKSCB launched a competition inviting local children and young people to create a video resource that would provide parents and carers with five top tips that they could use to help protect their own children and help them to stay safe online.
Competition entries were required to be submitted via formal settings – youth groups, schools, etc. The MKSCB received a total of six entries, from four different Milton Keynes primary schools.
After an incredibly difficult afternoon judging the entries, we are delighted to announce that the winning entry is:
‘Two Mile Ash News – Staying Safe Online’
The winning team, made up of Latia-Rae, Imogen, George and Adam from Two Mile Ash School, will now work with Rheya Brigden (Brigden Productions) to create a brand new online safety resource, which will be communicated and incorporated in to online safety training delivered by the MKSCB. The video can be viewed below, or via the Two Mile Ash School YouTube page by clicking here.
Jane Held, MKSCB Independent Chair, said,
“The films produced by local children from across Milton Keynes were absolutely exceptional. This competition reinforces the potential of our children and young people, evidencing the fantastic contribution they can make to creating a safer internet for everyone. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the young people who submitted entries for the competition, and wish the winning team luck as they start work on creating a brand new, professional online safety resource”.
