MKSCB Sub-Groups
Milton Keynes Safeguarding Children Board has six sub-groups, plus a Child Death Overview Panel.

The Sub-Groups are:
Communications sub-group is responsible for raising awareness around how children can be safeguarded and their welfare promoted. Download the MKSCB Communication Strategy here:

Serious Case Review sub-group ensures effective arrangements are in place to determine when to hold a serious case review.
Regulation 5 of LSCB Regulations 2006 requires LSCBs to undertake reviews of serious cases, in accordance with the procedures contained Chapter 8 of the HM Government document 'Working Together to Safeguard Children' 2010.

In 2009 Milton Keynes Safeguarding Children Board completed a serious case review on Child B. The Executive Summary report can be downloaded here:

Quality Assurance sub-group monitors and evaluates whether effective quality assurance systems are in place across and within partner agencies. The sub-group also monitors progress against Action Plans following Serious Case Reviews.
The sub-group has developed an
Audit Framework which will be reviewed every two years, or earlier should circumstances require.
The sub-group also holds responsibility for overseeing the S11 audit of relevant agencies in Milton Keynes. The s11 audit tool can be downloaded here:

Policy & Procedures sub-group is responsible for ensuring the development and maintenance of multi-agency safeguarding policies and procedures. the MKSCB web-based inter-agency procedures can be accessed by clicking on the link on the 'Professionals and Volunteers' page of the MKSCB website.
Safer Workforce sub-group is responsible for encouraging and monitoring safe recruitment and workforce practices across all services and agencies. In 2010 the sub-group carried out an audit of safer recruitment practices in Milton Keynes. The report on the findings of that audit are available to download here:

Training & Development sub-group has responsibility for ensuring that single- and inter-agency training on safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is provided to meet the needs of the children's workforce and others in Milton Keynes and evaluating the impact of this training on the children's workforce.
